A Developer of a Pyramid South Intermodal Freight & Terminal Hub
Mzansi Rail Technologies (Pty) Ltd is an entity registered and operating in the Republic of South Africa. The founders and initiators of Mzansi Rail Technologies (MRT) have more than 25 years of freight logistics business experience and knowledge. The founders are also the developers of the proposed Tshwane Freight Terminal and Logistics Hub (inland Dry Port) on a design, develop, construct, own and operate basis. The Terminal will become a catalysts to social and economic development for Pretoria, Gauteng Province and South Africa as a whole.
The Tshwane Freight Terminal and Logistics hub will serve as a regional container hub for various key industries, namely but not limited to the Automotive, Mining, Agro-industrial and FMCG industries, all serving the SADC region, North West Province, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Gauteng Provinces. with Mzansi Rail Technologies opening up an opportunity for growth within the African continent for the Tshwane Freight Terminal. The integrated freight logistics village aims to host several warehouses for local and international logistics companies, light manufacturing factories, and commercial offices.
The inland dry port will be able to carry the largest capacity in the SADC region, with a capacity of over 600 000, Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEU’s). Transnet Freight Rail’s (TFR) has in principle agreed to operate the trains in and out of the Terminal.
The Tshwane Freight Terminal will be used as a:
- Container terminal with the ability to convert bulk cargo to container
- An integrated intermodal and seamless facility for container freight transshipment, storage, packing & unpacking, empty container distribution
- Link to rail and road facilities combined with a logistics hive provision of specific expertise in the handling, consolidation and transportation of commodities and goods
- An attraction for both rail and road cargo owners, shipping companies, logistics brokers, cargo consolidators for exports and imports, distribution centers operators
Vision
The development will be recognized as a critical and strategic economic enabler and industrial infrastructure that will not only benefit Transnet Freight Rail, but various other industries such as automotive, manufacturing industries including SADC countries and assist to grow the Gauteng economy. We are working towards becoming Africa’s leading or pace setter in Intermodal Freight Terminal and Logistics Hub (inland Port).

Our People

Harry Mohloare
Chief Executive Officer
Mohloare brings rail road freight, strategic leadership and technical expertise to the MRT’s and TFT. Mohloare has been involved as a Project Director in various infrastructure built environment projects and business development. Previous Director of WSP Group Africa. Mohloare spent 9 years as a Senior Manager at Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) then Spoornet.
Maj Gen (ret) Keith Mokoape
Chief Strategist
Former Chief of Military Intelligence of the guerrilla army MK, and a former Chief of the Army Reserves of the post-apartheid South African National Defence Force. A Masters Graduate of the Wits Business School. To this project, he brings immense experience and a strategic outlook.
Zacharia Pitso Tolo
Chairman
Former commander of the guerrilla army MK and contributed to the democratisation of South Africa. Former MEC of Public Works and of Education in the North West Province, and currently a poultry farmer. Tolo has worked in cross-sectoral programmes and projects, including cross-border mining.
Motlatsi Tolo
Business Development Executive
A BSc graduate in Environmental Science, and a minor in Geoscience, from Midwestern State University, Texas, USA. Member of the Black Women In Science (BWIS) South Africa, and the South African Poultry Association (SAPA). She brings her networking skills, by strategically aligning partners and services towards the development of the project.
Baanetse Mokoape
Marketing & Communications
Edinburgh Napier University graduate in Marketing, Project and Events Management with a focus on Project Management, Digital Marketing and Sales. Developing strategic sales and marketing objectives while continuously monitoring and reporting key performance indicators custom to client and company goals.
