The Tshwane Intermodal Freight Terminal and Logistics Hub (TFT Logistics Hub) is the flagship project of its proud developers and promoters - Mzansi Rail Technologies (Pty) Ltd. TFT Logistics Hub will serve as a key transportation and industrial enabler infrastructure for the Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone. The project is strategically located at the junction of two National roads linking South Africa with the SADC countries, where the N4 links with Mozambique, Botswana, and Namibia through South Africa and the N1 leads to Zimbabwe, Zambia, and the rest of Africa. The Hub will contribute to national efforts to alleviate road congestion, clean environmental impact, transport solutions, and promote a sustainable economic growth and empowerment of the previously disadvantaged.

The integrated freight logistics village aims to host several warehouses for local and international logistics companies, light manufacturing factories, and commercial offices.

As the first of its kind in Gauteng, the Dry Port has been designed to carry the largest freight capacity in the SADC region, of over 600 000, Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEU’s).

Salient Features and Objectives of the TFT Logistics Hub:

• The Initiative is supported by Gauteng Provincial Government, Transnet, and the City of Tshwane
• Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) will be the operator of freight trains into and out of the Terminal
• Integrated intermodal facilities for Container Freight Transshipment, Warehousing, Packaging and Distribution
• Inland Dry Port which will have the biggest capacity to handle over 600000 TEU’s in the SADC region
• Private rail siding linked to TFR Regional network which is linked to major seaports of entry
• An attraction for both Rail and Road Cargo owners, Shipping companies, Logistics Brokers, Cargo Consolidators for exports and imports, and Distribution Center operators
